Attention, future Canadian medical professionals!

As a current medical student, I’ve always wondered when I should buy Disability Insurance… I knew I’d need it later on in my career, but why during school when I don’t make an income? Unfortunately, RBC (the primary provider of this insurance) is decreasing their discount from 25% to 10% on October 1st, 2023 so I was forced to dig digger and make a decision soon!

That’s when I reached out to Kristen Fazio, who was recently featured on Beyond MD, a physician-led podcast on the topic of Disability Insurance. She broke down the advantages/disadvantages of DI in what I believed to be an honest and easy to understand way. If you’re interested in hearing her speak, she’s agreed to do a Zoom presentation for our UBC class and answer any questions people have.

I will host the meeting and already told Kristen that I’d like her to focus on the educational component rather than trying to sell us.
